Ode to Kimmie

Today my baby sister is going through the temple. We are so proud of her. Last year Kim had a handsome little baby, Tyler. She placed him with LDS Family Services. Tyler has a loving family and both parents to raise him. Kim is so strong and amazing.

She now goes around speaking in Sacrament meetings with LDS Family Services about her experience. Kim has made such a change in her life and we are so proud that she has made righteous choices to get her to the temple.

She met Jonny while she was pregnant. He is such an amazing young man. He stood by Kim’s side throughout the entire pregnancy... and boy could she get ornery. Anyway, Kim told Jonny that she needed some time to just work through things on her own and Jon was understanding and accepted that. When Kim finally got to where she needed to be Jon was there ready to be with her. I love Kim so much and I love Jon for loving her as much as he does too. He is so good to her. Probably some times more than she deserves. :) Nevertheless, I am so excited to see my sweet baby sister all in white preparing to become an eternal family with her fiancé.

Kim, I wanted to reminisce about a few of my favorite memories, before you go off and become an old married woman.

I remember how everyone thought we were twins in Pirates of Penzance.
We were goofing off in the dressing room when we heard our song and knew we were supposed to be on stage so we ran across the building holding our dresses up so we wouldn't trip.

I'm surprised they didn't ask us not to come back for the other performances.

I think the picture says it all. I had never broken a bone in my entire body until you came along... We were making Peanut Butter fingers at my house and we got hungry so we put them in the oven (bad idea #1) and drove over to Subway to get a sandwich. I was just getting settled back in the car and hadn't put my seatbelt back on (bad idea #2) When the intersection light turned green and I told you to go (bad idea #3) A crazy woman driver :) wasn't paying attention and ran through the red light taking off the front part of your car.

I made sure to catch myself with my neck/shoulder on the dashboard. When you saw that I was alright after some awesome bystanders gave me a blessing you went and made sure the woman driver and the people in the SUV (that she totalled as well) were okay too.

But the part that makes you the best sister ever is, you went and got the PB fingers out of the oven while I was taken away in the ambulance.

Next time let me drive, okay? I have a better driving record. :)

Kim you're the best little sister anyone could ask for. I'm sorry Hollie and I used to hold you down and put soap in your mouth when you swore...

Looks like we cured your "sailors mouth" though :)

I love you!
